Philosophy of Care

It is my belief that people who are suffering with mental health, relationship, or addictive problems have lost their personal power. I see myself as a temporary partner with individuals or couples in finding or regaining that sense of power. I believe that sometimes this entails understanding the past in another way perhaps, and how this affects us currently, and that sometimes we just need to learn new skills or new ways of looking at things in our life. I feel my strength as a therapist is an ability to connect with patients, form a productive therapeutic alliance and provide feedback in an honest way to allow for growth. Whether working with an individual, couple, or group, I consider myself as part of the team devoted to improving and enhancing health. I am also a proponent of overall health and wellness with a long history in the field of health and fitness and provide information and recommendations to accompany mental health issues.
